The light of the morning was breaking through the clouds as a man looked up through his raven black hair, his crimson gaze staring up to the soft beams of light breaking through the grey clouds of the dawn. Thorne had seen many things throughout his many many years of living and fighting, and yet sun rises always seemed to be so beautiful that they transcended time and space, though they always happened every morning. This new world wasn't as strange as some of the others had been, but hopefully he could live here for a while without things going wrong. His last home world had shunned him once they found out what he was, everyone eventually did, and he hoped this place would be good enough.
His day was the same as always now, setting up camp on his new home, hiding his ship, hunting up some food, finding out what here was edible and what wasn't, the same old thing he always did. The locals here hadn't made themselves known to him yet, he knew they probably didn't know he was here yet. He would make himself known to them soon enough, and hopefully they would deem him worthy to live here on their planet for a while. Atleast until he found a lead on where he could find his brother.

Rose walked slowly through the forest on that quiet morning. She lived in the village just outside the forest. Her home was a small house, the closest to the woods. She lived by herself, minding her own business. She had grown up in a city a few hours from here, but after her parents were killed she left and found her new home here. She was quiet and withdrawn. Most of the villagers never saw her and she spent most of her time taking strolls through the woods. She was different from the rest, but she hid it well.
Her pale porcelain skin looked smooth in the sunlight that hit her once in a while through the trees. She strayed off her normal path and looked around, her hood hiding most of her face. She saw someone ahead, and cautiously moved towards them, wondering who it was and where they came from. As far as she knew, she was the only one that entered these supposed haunted woods.

Thorne was busy cooking himself a small stew featuring what he guessed was a rabbit and some of the wild vegetables he found in the forest when he heard a twig snap, turning and looking towards the area he heard the noise come from. Thorne picked up his huge sword and growled waiting for the thing to attack him, his eyes swirling with energy as he prepared to defend himself. He lunged towards the trees and tackled who or what ever it was to the ground, holding his sword to their neck. Only then did he realize it was a young woman, a very beautiful young woman, and he realized he was still holding his sword to her throat. He backed off and put his sword on the holder on his back and lowered his hand, which had been glowing with raw energy. "i'm sorry... you startled me, may I help you up?" He offered her his hand, hoping he hadn't scared her to the point of running away.

Before Rose knew it she was flat on her back. She reached for her dagger in her back but was too late. She breathed, tilting her head back to keep the blade from cutting her neck. Her eyes went from there soft amber color to almost burning as she stared up at him. She gave a soft growl and stared at him for a moment, glancing at his hand and then looked up at him.
"How can I trust you now when you jut tackled me to the ground and held a sword to my throat?"
She said softly yet harshly before reluctantly grabbing his hand and standing up. Her hood fell of, showing her very dark long brown hair and the smooth features of her face. She brushed herself off and looked at him.
"Who are you?"

"First off, sorry about the attack, but when you live like me you have no choice but to take everything in a new place as an aggressive act, and secondly, my name is Thorne, Thorne Keitaro Masla, and you are?" He knew he had probably no right to ask her to trust him, but at the moment he knew he could beat her, she was much much younger than he was, and he had alot of secret weapons he could use should the need arise, but for now he figured he could trust her. His long black hair complimented his crimson eyes well, most women would have been awed almost instantly, but this one was different, he figured she would make for a great ally, unlike most he had met.
"I can tell you know how to fight and hunt, the dagger on your back is proof enough of that, but I am a warrior, and I am never caught by suprise. I thought you were going to attack me so I tackled you, I had no right to do so but I thought I was in danger, I normally act first and then ask questions. Would you like some stew?" He figured the least he could do was offer her some food since he had attacked her, maybe this was a good oppertunity to learn about where the hell he was.

She looked him up and down for a minute. She felt something different about him. His eyes sent a slight chill down her back, making her curious about him. She gave a light sigh and looked him in the eyes again. Deciding she could trust him.
"Rose..."
She looked around slowly again, before pulling her hood back up and looking at him. She found it odd that he felt he needed to protect himself out here. The most dangerous thing was probably her. She found it even more surprising he offered to share his meal.
"I rarely have to use them.....but when needed I do...And I wasn't going to attack you, I was coming to find out who you were and if you were lost."
She said a little coldly but meant no harm. She was just annoyed she was just tackled to the ground and almost killed.
"And I am fine thank you, I already ate."

"Ok... just thought I would make the offer." Thorne said, sitting down beside the camp fire, pouring himself a bowl and motioning for her to sit with him. "Anyway, I guess you could say I am lost, I uh... arrived here just last night and passed out, I awoke just as the sun was rising, figured I would set up camp and find some food before it got too late. I didn't know how many people lived nearby, I was going to go exploring later today but you saved me the trouble I suppose."
Thorne finished his bowl and quickly poured himself another, he was famished after his long trip and hadn't eaten in nearly a week. As he polished it off, he fixed one last bowl, since there had only been enough for three bowls, and gave the girl before him a serious once over, she was very beautiful, but she had the air of a hunter or possibly a fighter about her. "So do you live nearby?" THorne hoped she did, so that he might have a firend to talk to every once and a while in this, his new home.

She looked at him, then around, slowly sitting across from him. She looked at the stew for a moment then up at him before looking around and nodding slowly.
"I live about a half mile north on the edge of the woods."
She looked at him again, staring at his face. She had to admit, he was handsome, but there was still something about him she didn't trust. She felt an energy from him that was different and her curiosity was starting to get the best of her.
"How did you get here?"

"Uh... I came here from a far away land... lets leave it at that for now, maybe one of these days I'll explain but I am too tired to explain all that right now." He got the pot and washed it in the near by stream and put it up, then went into his tent, coming out in some robes and what seemed to be an outfit he wore while exploring the forest, a green tunic and pants, hunting boots, and his sword was covered by a large fabric, a cloak around his neck that seemed to flow in the soft breeze. He looked alot like a traveling druid of the forest in these clothes, but they also doubled as camoflouge in the forest.
"So anyways, I figured the locals around here would find me a bit strange in my other garbs, I do not know the style here where you live, nor do I know how advanced your people are... what kind of city do your people live in?" Thorne was trying not to give away the fact that he was what these people would considder to be an alien, but he knew he needed to find out as much as he possibly could.

Rose watched him, raising an eyebrow slightly, trying to figure him out. She slowly stood, smoothing out her cloak again. She was looked around the forest again, looking a little nervous.
"It's really not a city, it's a small village, mostly local farmers. The city is Northeast from here. Maybe about thirty minutes."

"what kind of technology do they have there?" Thorne knew it was a risky question that might give him away, but he needed to know. He stretched a bit then walked up to her.
"Well would you take me to the village then? I would like to see this land a bit more if its ok with you." Thorne hoped she would help him, he needed to know all he could find out before anything tried to kill him and he was forced to reveal himself for what he really was.

She looked at him again and raised an eyebrow.
"Technology? I guess you will have to judge for yourself."
She started walking away from his camp, looking around again.
"Follow me and please hurry...."

Thorne simply nodded and followed her, hoping the place wasn't as advanced as the last place he visited, that place was far too annoying and way harder to defend than he would have liked. Thorne knew what coming from an advanced civilization was like, but he hated them all the same. They almost always caused more trouble than they were worth. Hopefully this would be more like what he called the "primitive" civilizations, ones that preferred to fight by the sword not the gun.
He pulled out an ocarina as they were walking and played a lilting tune from his childhood, his mother had taught him of course, but no one, not a single person from any of the worlds he had been too, had ever asked about it, they just said it was a pretty song. As he continued to play, he looked around the forest and at the girl who walked in front of him, he wondered if she knew he wasn't from this world. She had given him an odd look, which made him think she was suspicious of him.

Rose listened and when he was done playing turned and looked at him.
"That was a very beautiful song....Where did you learn it?"
She continued to walk, fast paced. She seemed to be in a hurry, though for some unknown reason. She looked tense as she pulled her hood further up over he face.

Thorne smiled as he followed, keeping up with her, wondering why she was hiding her face, and for some reason he could smell blood, but he didn't know from where. "My mother taught me that tune when I was young, but that was a long time ago..." He considdered telling her where he was really from when it hit him, the smell was coming from her. He figured he would wait until they got to where they were going to ask about it.
A few minutes later he spotted a cabin on the edge of the woods. "Is that your home?" Thorne figured it was her cabin, but wasn't quite sure. He saw no windows on the outside so he wondered if it even had windows.
